Kelly Curtin

Kelly Curtin, lyric coloratura soprano, has been lauded for her “crystal-clear soprano” (Opera News) and the“lovely fullness” of her voice (New York Classical Review). She is known for her comedic timing and keen acting abilities as well as her vocal acrobatics. Her favorite roles performed include Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Eurydice (Orphée aux Enfers), Olympia (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Yum-Yum (The Mikado), Le Feu and Le Rossignol ( L'enfant et les sortilèges), Despina (Così fan tutte), Frasquita (Carmen), Valencienne (The Merry Widow), Valentina (Later the Same Evening), Ms. Wordsworth (Albert Herring), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Rose (Street Scene) and Angelina (Trial by Jury).

The 2018/19 season began with Ms. Curtin's appearance as Zerlina in Don Giovanni at St. Pete Opera, followed by her role debut as the title character is Franz von Suppé’s rarely performed (in the U.S.) Die Schöne Galatee with Bel Cantanti Opera. She is delighted to return to St. Pete again for Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica, and concludes the season with a residency at Ohio Light Opera, where she will perform one of her signature roles; Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance. She will also perform as Sophie von Zinzendorf in another rarely performed operetta, Kàlmàn’s The Devil's Rider.
